Glyceryl Stearate/PEG-100 Stearate

Polyoxyethylene stearate

The surfactant properties of glyceryl stearate and PEG-100 stearate allow oil and water to mix. Creams and lotions are made of materials called emulsifiers that hold water and oil droplets together; without them, the oil droplets would float on the water. When used as a moisturizer, it forms a protective layer on the skin's surface Protective barrier that greatly helps retain moisture.

PEG-100 Stearate is a nonionic, self-emulsifying glyceryl monostearate used as the primary emulsifier in various oil-in-water cream or emulsion systems. It has excellent electrolyte resistance, so emulsions formed with PEG-100 stearate are stable under high concentrations of electrolytes. It can also be used in combination with other emulsifiers to achieve synergistic effects.
